I bought this pan in March, and now that I have had it for almost a year I feel I can honestly say, ‘It does everything as advertised’! It can get REALLY HOT, or simply keep the meal warm. No more ‘hot spots’ is one of my favorites! The pans heat evenly. I love having two pans. I have used it for everything from soup to stir fry. It has earned the title of ‘Super Pan’ in our house!
Zojirushi never fails to please!
This skillet is versatile and very easy to use & clean (with one exception that I’ll address later). The pans are deep enough to accommodate a very large recipe for stew–the yield is always enough to fill every piece of tupperware that I own. Food cooks evenly, and the temperature gauge is accurate. I also have a Zojirushi rice cooker & water boiler and have found that Zojirushi is simply a trustworthy brand. One thing that I’ll be careful of in the future is making sure that when I have the pan very full, that it doesn’t boil over. It is then that cleaning becomes tricky around the edges of the appliance.
Use it almost every day
I had read a review in “Fine Cooking” magazine about this appliance and was immediately interested. Must say the price tag had me debating on whether I should splurge on an electric skillet but my doubts are gone! Due to it’s size it was a challenge finding a place to leave it out on the counter in my small kitchen but I made room and as I use it almost every day it is much more convenient than having to retrieve it from a cabinet. My favorite things to cook on it? Hash brown potatoes; evenly golden to perfection. Pork tenderloin and salmon; sear the outside then turn the heat down, lid it, and let it finish coming up to temp. The deeper pan is great for homemade tomato sauces and large batches of soups, stews, muscles and clams. All that and super easy cleanup, too. Bottom line: Awesome!
